EUMETSAT Internship
Satellite operations and space systems program

Two weeks at EUMETSAT (European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites). Organized a space systems education program covering satellite construction, rocketry, and orbit mechanics. Produced and published a podcast interview with the Director General on low Earth orbit satellite operations, which required doing real homework to ask questions worth answering.
Design and deliver a coherent educational program on space systems while also producing a technically credible interview with the Director General on LEO satellite operations.
- Two-week duration. The program had to be designed and delivered within the same window.
- Audience for the educational program ranged widely in technical background
- Program built around physical hardware where possible: satellite mock-ups and rocket components rather than slides alone
- Podcast format for the DG interview rather than a written report. Better medium for covering operational nuance and edge cases.
- 01
Space systems curriculum covering satellite construction, launch mechanics, and orbit operations
- 02
Rocketry section with hands-on component demonstration
- 03
DG interview preparation: technical background research on LEO constellation design and operations
- 04
Recorded, edited, and published podcast through EUMETSAT channels
Program completed and delivered. Director General podcast interview published through EUMETSAT.
- Getting a useful technical interview requires real preparation. Surface-level questions get surface-level answers regardless of how senior the person is.
