Junior Studium, Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt

During high school, I joined the selective Junior Studium program at Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt as the second student from my school to be accepted. I completed university-level courses in mechanics, thermodynamics, atomic physics, electrical engineering, instrumental analytics, and quantum mechanics, taking the same exams as full-time students. I liked having classes that moved faster than school physics and made me stay with topics I did not understand immediately.

Pursue technical depth beyond what the high school curriculum offered, in subjects that actually matched where my interests were pointing.

• Selective admission. Only the second student from my school ever accepted.
• Exams sat alongside full-time university students, no separate track

• Chose physics and engineering courses because they matched the questions I wanted to understand and complemented one another across the program.
• Pursued this alongside a full high school load, which forced real prioritization

• University physics has a different standard than school physics. Showing your working matters as much as getting the right answer.
• Quantum mechanics at 15 is hard. It is also exactly the kind of thing worth doing early if you want to build intuition for it later.
