Junior Studium, Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt

During high school, I joined the selective Junior Studium program at Hochschule Hamm-Lippstadt. I was only the second student ever from my school to be accepted into the program. I completed university-level courses in mechanics, thermodynamics, atomic physics, electrical engineering, instrumental analytics, and quantum mechanics, sitting the same exams as full-time university students. An early step into the kind of work I enjoy most: technical, demanding, and grounded in understanding how things actually work.

Pursue technical depth beyond what the high school curriculum offered, in subjects that actually matched where my interests were pointing.

• University physics has a different standard than school physics. Showing your working matters as much as getting the right answer.
• Quantum mechanics at 15 is hard. It is also exactly the kind of thing worth doing early if you want to build intuition for it later.
